Good Moves

Good Moves is a non-profit organization that serves the North Georgia and Metropolitan Atlanta communities with exceptional dance performance and instruction. We approach dance as an adventure to be explored from every possible vantage point; a journey rather than a destination. Good Moves has four components; Outreach (community programming), Ed Source (non-profit dance school), Consort (pre-professional repertory company), and Moving On (young professional ensemble).

Outreach has touched hundreds of people in the Atlanta area. It provides performances, workshops and lecture demonstrations through community partnerships.

Ed Source provides economical, high-quality instruction and small class size in a variety of dance forms for the beginning student through the professional.

The Consort is the primary performing ensemble of Good Moves and features dedicated pre-professional dancers. Its repertory features works by both local and national choreographers and includes historic reconstructions, ballet and modern works.

Moving On is a young professional performing ensemble. This program is being developed to support conservatory students with off-season employment. Moving On provides site specific performances and workshops.

Good Moves’ work has been recognized both locally and nationally with invitations to dance by the Modern Atlanta Dance Festival and The American Dance Festival at Duke University and with support from The Georgia Council for the Arts, the Fulton County Arts Council and The City of Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs.  Good Moves dancers find success beyond Good Moves at conservatories such as The Juilliard School and The Boston Conservatory.

Good Moves is a unique arts organization because it combines outreach, a dance school, and pre-professional and professional performance to create a lively community of artists, audiences and friends.
